Throughout this book I had a recurring thought that the author has been listening to my thoughts for the past 20 years because the scenarios were so eerily spot-on.

The author recommends self-acceptance and positivity instead of guilt and self-criticism– fantasize about how good you’ll feel when you eat healthier foods instead of guilt-tripping yourself about that chocolate bar you ate at lunch.

In my opinion, acceptance and mindfulness based approaches are best when offered in concert with traditional CBT. Ok, I admit it. It might actually be the last self-help book I ever read. Simple language, simple ideas, simple simple simple.
